Here's something a little different, explanation -
lazytigersan said: this is my part of the collab i have going with tifa and sephiroth! huzzah! we decided that the combination was a little unusual and would therefore make an interesting pic. the only relationship that tifa had with sephiroth that i could think of was the fact that he killed her father so that's where the inspiration for the pic comes from. what would have happened if tifa got the chance to take out sephiroth instead of cloud... she would belt his head in! yay!
cg by me. i'm reasonably happy with the results. i tried moving sephiroth's eyes into the right position without making it look weird, i really did. but in the end i thought: "well, let's just make it so he looks at tifa's fist instead because that's what he's trying to dodge"
the sword angle is slightly bumpy looking, i apologise. and sephiroth's hair was hard to do because of my partner's art style which i'm not used to. those are about the only things i'm reasonably disappointed about. i fixed up some of the lineart though, if you notice i've repositioned tifa's neck so it doesn't stretch out unnaturally
well, with this done i'll be able to continue on with my manga which will hopefully appear online soon progressively
"sephiroth's hair was hard to do because of my partner's art style which i'm not used to" ...the fact that you managed to colour any of my art is a minor miracle my friend, let alone the fact that out managed to make it look so sweet! that is just beautiful mate, your colouring style kicks an incredible amount of ass. it's so good to see something new of yours, albeit over the top of something mine. very nice work.
bits i especially dig:
-blur on tifa's glove, very well implemented
-the glowy leather highlight bits on tifa's skirt... subtle but brilliantly effective
-all your metal effects... especially seph's shoulder pads... noooice!
-how you've managed to work heaps of detail into places i wasn't bothered to
only part i'm not too sold on is seph's eyes... to me it seems like he is looking at his sword, not tifa or her fist. also the background makes the whole pic a little too grey... maybe a subtle hue tint in some direction might help this... dunno. but these are just minor complaints mate, you've done a freekin awesome job! i'm gonna fave and post this sucker in every nook and cranny i can find. if you don't mind, i might stick our respective devart url's in there so the kudos make their way back to us.

again with the eyes! lol. yeah i know it's a problem, but i try not to "look at it" too much
and the bg is actually a snapshot from the ffvii advent children trailer which explains all the grayness. it would look better with a brighter feeling but then again it'd destroy that dark mood i was trying to represent
i think we made a great team though

i'm already doing the same. i've already posted it on MegaTokyo forums so hopefully i'll get some extra comments
btw the metal effect didn't come out as intended. it was meant to have more of a rough feeling but i couldn't find the right tutorial. so it's a bit plastic looking. well as i said before, i just wanted to hurry the pic up and post it as it's been delayed so many times
WOW...I haven't see your work in a long while Surashi kun ^_-...Phew!!...this really amazes me you've improved sooo much...(not saying you weren't good before) but wow this is is very well coloured...andI luv the composition of the picture...nice to see tifa and sephy in a shot together which is pretty rare...
